I need your help.

My laptop is dying, I'm afraid. It's a Dell Inspiron 1420, and has a 220 GB hard drive. I've had it going on two years. I'm going to be getting a new laptop soon.

Here's what I use it for: chatting, web surfing, word documents, video-making (as in Windows Movie Maker videos that I upload to Youtube), and listening to music. I'm also on it about 12 hours/day.

Here are the complaints I have about the Dell: it crashes frequently and gets hot very, very fast.

What kind of laptop do you have? Do you like it? What issues do you have with it? Any recommendations for a brand? What should I be looking for in a laptop to do the above listed without much trouble?

Help please.

Help!

I'm in Microsoft Works Spreadsheet...and I have two columns. Artists and Titles. And I told it to sort them by alphabetical order and it BROKE THEM UP. I have over 400 things listed! Is there any way to undo the spreadsheet to go back to the way I originally typed it?

Question.

Does anyone else have a problem with Windows Media Player rebooting their computer when you're using it to listen to music? This has happened to me three times in less than 24 hours and it's very annoying. 0_0 I'm pretty sure Media Player is causing it, but I don't know why--any thoughts or suggestions? Help?

Dear Best Buy~

Thank you for having one copy of Veronica Mars season 2 in stock, but please, please stop sending me your ever so tempting ads about laptops being only $449 if I order one now! I have always wanted a laptop, but I realize I do not really need one, nor can I afford it, so please stop tempting me, ok?

Thanks,
me

My thoughts are way too scattered to attempt an actual smart post right now, but I have some questions.

What *exactly* is Vox? Why is everyone so excited about it? Can someone please explain to me what it is and why it's so great?

What it LJTalk?? Is it an IM program through LJ? *confused*

Is anyone else having some weird ass problem with Windows Media Player? Last week it would play CDs and this week it won't. wtf? It won't let me play the CDs through the 'CD Player' function on the computer either. Any ideas what's going on or is my computer just a spazz?

Ok. My boss wants my help with something. She wants to create a list of businesses on a computer program and be able to pull up one business at a time by the name of the business, and the town that it's in. She also wants the program to alphabatize the businesses for her. Any suggestions for computer programs that will do this?

Does anyone know how to find out what Internet Server someone uses to host a website?

The phone lines still suck, my car won't start and now my CD burner program is screwed up. It's not even Monday!

Does anyone know of any downloadable software that will both find and get rid of spyware for free? Also, what's the difference between adware and spyware? Is it the same thing?

So for the past like, 48 hours I've been downloading MIDI files onto my computer. I now have roughly 330 saved to my hard drive. I think I have a problem.

"Excuse me. My name is Angie and...I'm a MIDIholic."

And tomorrow I'm going to a book sale where all the books are $.50/paperback and $1.00/hardback. I bought around 54 books there last year for 35 bucks. Let's just say that I'm running out of room for books, but I have about 60 bucks spending money. :) My room will be more crowded by tomorrow night, but I can't wait.
