Did you know that every day, at least 8000 girls and women in the world are suffering because they have been subjected to an age-old practice called female genital mutilation? That’s five girls every minute.

I have read and signed a petition demanding for a European Union strategy to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and protect women and girls affected by this dangerous practice in Europe and elsewhere.

At 9:20 a.m. today, the FDA approved over-the-counter access to the "morning-after" pill!

Medical experts and scientists at the FDA have asserted for years that the morning-after pill - which can prevent an unintended pregnancy if taken within 72 hours after sex - should be available without a prescription. It's safe, it's effective, and it's a commonsense way for women to prevent unintended pregnancy.
