Running out of time to decide on which canidate I'm voting for in the primary. 8 days away. Problem is I like both Obama and Clinton. I think they both did very well in the debate that I watched a few weeks ago. I also liked Edwards, but it's looking pretty grim for him. Guess I'd better do some more research to attempt to narrow it down to one.

I think they'd both do a good job. Of course, anything's better than what we have right now. Wouldn't take much, though. :P

Hell, DYLAN would be a better President than what we have now, haha.

I'm with you on being unsure of who to vote for. I've heard my husband's arguments, but since he's a reagon-republican at heart, I wholeheartedly reject his point of view that McCain would make a good president.

I'm definitely staying Democrat, and I'm just not sure between Clinton and Obama.

*nods* I hear ya. Any thoughts on how you're going to narrow it down?

I'm honestly not sure. All that I've heard so far regarding the two of them - their platforms are not very far apart. The fact that Hillary seems to have no trouble sending Bill in to do some of her dirty work for her is a bit troublesome... while I thought that Bill was a great president, he's not who I would be voting for this time around...

I have to say that Obama is definitely a more engaging orator - which would be a refreshing change from what we currently have.

I feel the same (and I don't have to vote), but I certainly feel it's better to be personally split between two good candidates than to not have one at all, you know?

Amen to that!

I seem to be the black sheep here, but I can't stand Hillary, so I am definitely voting for Obama.

On the other side of the political fence..McCain is my favorite, but he's getting up there in years, and in my view there really isn't anyone else I'm too comfortable w/ voting for. I may just vote third party in the "main" (?) election.

You're not a black sheep! You're absolutely entitled to vote for whichever canidate you feel is best for the position--be it democrat, republican, or third party. I'm just glad you're voting! :)

Yes, we certainly have an embarrassment of riches this year on the Dem side!

At this point I suspect we can't consider Edwards truly in the running, though I love his passion for ending poverty. I hope the winner finds some good position for him in his or her cabinet! He's got really good ideas and has clearly thought more deeply about poverty than the others, though they all care about poor people. (I have to say, after being poor under Republican and Democrat administrations, I will never vote Republican because they always gut programs that keep poor people's heads above water and put food into the mouths of poor children.)

Since positions on issues are so close, and the differences mean that while you may prefer one on one issue, you'll likely prefer another on a different issue, it comes down to who will do best in the general election campaign. That's a tough call. Clinton has baggage but a well oiled political machine and against a Republican will solidify both the black and female votes (not the die hard fundies, of course) and is popular as well among Latinos/as. But it seems that everyone is hungry for radical change, so a fresh face like Barack who is well spoken and inspiring might just carry an election against a Republican who seems too slick (Romney) or too establishment (McCain) and war like.

For me, I have long looked forward to a Hillary campaign and I think it's a shame if her husband's baggage is weighing her down after she supported his career and waited her turn. After 8 years of another president will she still be a viable candidate at the age she'll be? I think Hillary would rock as a president and part of me wishes Obama could have waited a bit. (But he thinks he'll become more cynical if he waits or runs again later.)

So I am still going back and forth, back and forth...

Yeah, you and I are pretty much in the same place on everything political, I think. So very torn on which one to go with. *sighs*

I think I'm going to go with who I would most like to see in office (this time around) and vote for Hillary. Obama is young and he can run again if he so chooses. I think Hillary would rock as President, she knows policy, she knows the players involved, and knows which buttons to push, which favors to call in, and how to get things done. Obama would have to learn a lot more on the job. I'm sure he'd do fine in the end, but we need someone who can hit the ground running.

Honestly that's the way I'm leaning myself. That being said, I will undoubtedly vote for whichever wins the primary. :)

My fervent wish is that they'll end up running mates. Yet Barack dodged that question rather coolly when asked if he would consider her or Edwards. But really, the first viable African American candidate and the first viable woman candidate on the same ticket? Priceless!

I would be thrilled if they ended up as running mates. I'm really excited about this election!

I just found this video online, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn interview Hillary Clinton. They asked some pretty good questions, might help in your decision.

It helped my decision, and not just because I love Amber and America... well, not all because of them :-P

Anyway, here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8frN4Rou_s

I'm so glad you're actually going to vote! Here we have to vote so people have no choice but to be at least semi-active citizens. ;)

My personal preference is Obama, because his charisma and strength is making me believe that the world will one day be able to trust America again, that there is still hope for one of the 'leaders of the free world'. I find Hillary manipulative, ruthless and cold, despite the fact I'm a hardcore feminist.

But I'm not trying to influence you - go forth and research, and hopefully you'll come to a definitive decision for you. xD
