...someone please explain to me why nearly every frickin' story I've found in SPN communities are Wincest fics! *cries* Yuck! Seriously. *is going insane* I wanna read good SPN fic but NOT Wincest crap. I do NOT get the appeal at all. *sigh*

but...I can honestly say that is the first time I ever saw a warning that says don't read if you're into wincest. LOL usually it's the other way around. :D

I totally understand...I don't try to preach Wincest on anybody...because it is squicky right? and when I first heard about it I was like EW! Dude! No! ...then one of my fave authors went and wrote a Wincest fic...and I couldn't not read it because I love her work...and yeah she hooked me. LOL *hangs head*

It is rather frightening the amount of Wincest out there, isn't it? Thank goodness most authors of this weirdness mark it as such.

I have found a few good fics. Although of course my brain goes blank now that I need to remember them. I don't know what type of fic you are looking for but I have one in progress series called Hunter's Crossing and three stand alones posted over at fanfiction.net under Signs Of Sun. That is, if you are interested. I'm a member of Supernatural.tv and I found some non Wincest fic there. If I remember the titles or authors of the others I'll drop you a comment.

When I first started reading or trying to read SPN fic I had that problem. Through sheer determination I've managed to find a lot of non-Wincest fic. I've even started reading J2, some of it really excellent.

If you are into reading gen, there is a lot of gen out there. I can suggest some writers to check out if you are interested. This community newsletter is great about separating out S/D from other pairings, most of the time. http://community.livejournal.com/spnnewsletter/

I'm more of a shipper so I've gathered a lot of gen but I haven't read any so I can't tell you what's good yet. I've also found some het spn fics. I read a really good one with Dean/Liz Parker here: http://afwolff.livejournal.com/2070.html#cutid1
