A new show started a few weeks ago, and it stars Kathy Bates. This show is called Harry's Law. I tuned into the pilot because I've always liked Kathy Bates, and it looked funny. I expected it to be amusing and maybe even kind of a spoof of other law shows.
It is funny.
But it's also made me cry more than once. This show deals with real life issues (the law office is set in the middle of the "ghetto,") and social justice and it's just...amazing without being overly preachy. The cast is amazingly talented and works well together. I sincerely love this show, and it has become my new favorite program on TV.
Those of you whom I was in the Joan of Arcadia fandom with? This show touches me on the same level that one did, and frankly no other show has done that before.
So if you're not watching, I implore you to tune in and give it a shot.
