Superheroes II
Episode Review by X_tremeroswellian
Oh.
My.
God.
Okay, I'm still sick, but feeling some better..not well enough to do an entire recap now, but...
First off, Davis is all right. He was shot in the thigh, but it looks like he's going to be just fine. He woke up and talked to Sully and to Alex and his mother in the episode.
Second, the guy Bosco was working with, Officer Ross...he was killed. We'll get back to this later.
Carlos was actually...not a jerk in this episode. He's the one who broke the news to Alex about Davis being shot and he actually seemed concerned.
The whole thing with Doc seems to be done with. Jerry told the lawyers he was working for that Doc wasn't at fault and he got the camera guy to edit the video to cut out the parts where Doc took the kid's neck brace off.
Faith was all over the place tonight. Trying to help calm down Gusler, who was on the verge of a nervous breakdown (and who is apparently quitting the force), getting Doc and Carlos to make it look like Bosco's temporary partner who had been shot and killed had a chance of surviving...okay, that needs more explaining.
At the beginning of the episode, Boz finds Officer Ross on the ground, blood everywhere. He and Faith perform CPR on the guy til the paramedics get there. Bosco's a wreck at that point, and Carlos comes over and tells him to get back. He sees the brain matter on the back of Ross' head; Faith sees it, too. Carlos sends Boz to get Doc. Apparently Faith managed to convince Doc and Carlos to take Ross away in the ambulance despite the fact he was dead; just for Boz's mental state.
Then later, Faith finds the old guy who turned in Chevchinko dead. He'd either jumped or been thrown out his window. Needless to say, she felt guilty about that since she was the one who convinced him to tell her who had killed all those kids last week.
She's on her way back into the station when Fred shows up and starts asking why she hadn't called. She tells him she's too tired to deal with him right then and walks inside. As a sidenote, I was split on who I sympathized more with at this point. Fred's not my favorite character, but Faith is his wife and I'm sure it was scary when she didn't call. On the other hand, look at everything she'd had to deal with. I think under the circumstances it's pretty understandable how someone might forget to pick up the phone.
Anyway. So then she confronted the Russian mafia guy and told him one day she'd see him in prison because one day she'd find someone who wasn't afraid of him.
Then towards the end, she walks into the locker room as Boz is leaving.
Faith: Hey.
Boz: Hey.
F: I thought you went home.
B: Still workin' on the paperwork.
F: Do you need help?
B: No.
F: You all right?
B: Always was. (Faith looks down) I got a couple of reports to file and then I'm outta here.
F: Look, I'm sorry about that counselor thing.
B: Know what I've been thinkin'? You know, if we'd been together today, you might be dead.
F: Well, that's a pretty big 'what if' Bosco.
B: It just seems like everything I touch lately is...
F: Hey.
B: What?
F: Come on. It's not you. (Pause) Are we okay?
B: I don't know.
F: We can work together tomorrow?
B: (looks surprised) You're not gonna be here tomorrow.
F: (looks at him, startled and confused): What do you mean?
B: The boss hasn't talked to you yet? (she shakes her head no) You killed a guy out there, Faith. You're gonna be relieved of duty. Sounds like you're gonna end up with accomendations. I'm sure you're gonna get a few free days off.
F: (her appearance doesn't give much away, but she is deeply shaken): Right. Right. Of course.
B: Thank you. For being there. (Bosco leaves the locker room)
Faith stands at her locker alone: Absolutely.
Well, it gets worse.
Bosco goes into talk to the Lt. who is standing staring at a diagram of the incident that he's drawn on a chalkboard. Bosco confirms his location, the perps' location, Ross' location, and Faith's location. The Lt. is trying to figure out how the perps shot Ross when he was on the opposite side of the street as Boz and they were shooting at Bosco.
A startled realization comes over his face, and a sickening ball of dread builds in my stomach as I, too, realize what has happened. Faith killed Ross, or so it appears.
I have to say, that I *so* did not see it coming. And I'm really worried about her because she was already so shaken by the fact that she killed a guy that was shooting at Bosco...and to find out she had killed one of the good guys by accident?
Why do they keep torturing poor Faith and Bosco?
