Please take a moment.

Did you know that every day, at least 8000 girls and women in the world are suffering because they have been subjected to an age-old practice called female genital mutilation? That’s five girls every minute.

I have read and signed a petition demanding for a European Union strategy to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and protect women and girls affected by this dangerous practice in Europe and elsewhere.

If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider signing this petition yourself. Your support could help in ending FGM and saving future girls from this practice.

Take action here: http://www.endfgm.eu

8000 women are newly subjected to it? I think there's a lot of women generally subject to it.

I actually did a speech about this for my speech class. Hey, I have no fear of public speaking and I don't shy away from tough subjects I feel passionate about.

As if FGM isn't barbaric enough, some of the techniques and tools these people use are even more horrific. It makes me sick.
